San Francisco Bay Area Fog

$125.00

Description

Swirling fog formed outside of San Francisco Bay and passed through the Golden Gate Strait on August 26, 2024. Late summer is peak fog season in the Bay Area due to "upwelling" — when cold ocean water rises to the surface near the coastline, causing warm air from the Pacific to cool rapidly and condense into fog. Hotter temperatures inland then pulls the fog through the narrow opening of the Strait.
